PBA Registration opens at 1:00 PM. AAML Pennsylvania will open their program from 1:30–3:00 PM with Navigating the Crossroads: Where Family and Dependency Courts Meet, a 1.5 Substantive CLE-credit program exploring how dependency and family courts interact—particularly when custody matters arise during investigations of criminal charges or abuse allegations involving a parent.
Topics include:
- The evolution of a custody or dependency case following a dependency adjudication
- Considerations when third parties may serve as caregivers
- Resources for children and caregivers
- Practical guidance for advising parents or third parties when CYS/DHS/OCY is involved
- Best practices for obtaining criminal records and understanding current clearance requirements
